Zucchero, the rocker with the hit song “Baila Morena” is expected in Gasablanca

The international star of the eighties and nineties, the rock star Zucchero, the Italian icon, will perform a concert during the 17th edition of the Gasablanca Festival, on Saturday, June 8, at the Casablanca Theater in Anfa Park.

With over forty years of a career and 60 million records sold, Italian Zucchero has made his mark with global hits like “Senza una donna” and “Baila Morena.”

With a hat screwed onto his head, a raspy voice and a rock style mixed with African-American and Trans-Alpine influences, Zucchero makes his first stop in Casablanca, as part of his “Overdose of Love” world tour.

The organizers have already announced big names from the rock and jazz scene such as James Blunt, head of this festival, the Kaleo group and British sensation Paolo Nutini.

A unique and ever-evolving festival, the Gasablanca Festival, created in 2006, offers each edition a unique concept and an exceptional atmosphere: a combination of open-air stages, with several concerts every evening, spaces dedicated to training and exchange, food stalls and activities for young and old.

If jazz remains the historical thread of Gazablanca, every year a great place is given to current music and especially to discoveries. Thus, festival-goers can discover new artists alongside international stars, who are often performing for the first time in Morocco, or even in Africa.
