The popularity of volleyball in the region led to the creation of a new organization.
Thetford Volleyball Club was formed last November thanks to staff and players from the region. Her mission will be to promote the sport in the region identified by Julie Morissette…
In addition, the organization will be responsible for two annual volleyball tournaments: the Thetford Slam, hosted by La porte d’à vite microbeer in the spring, and the Beach Slam, hosted by the town of Thetford, in the summer. The second indoor volleyball tournament will take place this weekend, April 27th and 28th, at Thetford High School and CEGEP gyms.
This year the tournament is full again: 65 teams have registered in the three available categories, explains Daphne Morin…
Over the weekend, four hundred players will play 170 volleyball matches. The organization strives to return profits from the tournaments to the region’s volleyball community.
