Morocco condemns the incursions of Jewish extremists on the esplanade of the Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Kingdom of Morocco, whose King Mohammed VI chairs the Al-Quds Committee, within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), expresses its strong condemnation and condemnation of the incursion of certain extremists and their supporters on the esplanade of the Al Aqsa Mosque, and their provocative practices that violate its sacred character.

In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Morocco reiterates its rejection of any measure that undermines the legal and historical status of Al Quds City and its holy sites, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque, or imposes any restriction on the entry of worshippers.

The Kingdom also emphasizes the need to preserve the civilizational and Islamic character of the holy city, and to avoid any form of escalation and provocation.

Under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, the MAE continues, the Kingdom confirms that the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace and lasting stability in the region remains dependent on the creation of a Palestinian state on the June 1967 border with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of the international legitimacy and the principle of a two-state solution.
