Nicolas Savant-Aira from Aix qualified in table tennis

At 43, from Aix, Nicolas Savant-Aira confirmed his qualification for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, in table tennis. This will be his fourth participation in the Paralympic Games. The announcement of his eligibility came on Thursday, April 25. Nicolas Savant-Aira is also one of the flame bearers on 12 May in Aix-en-Provence.

Nicolas Savant-Aira has officially qualified for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. After several months of traveling the world and training, the table tennis player got his individual and doubles qualification. He has therefore joined the lucky selections in this competition since Thursday 25 April.

Nicolas Servant-Aira will participate in his fourth Paralympic Games from 28 August to 8 September. Bronze medalist in 2012 (London) and 2021 (Tokyo), he is currently ranked ninth in the world in Class 5. A teacher in the city of Aix-en-Provence and president of the city’s valid table tennis club, Nicolas Servant-Aira suffers from a rare spinal deformity which forcing him to sit in a wheelchair.

Nicolas Savant-Aira joins another already qualified Provençal, Fabien Lamirault, friend and training partner at the Marseille Provence TT. Crowned four times during the Paralympic Games, is aiming for a hat-trick in men’s and mixed singles and doubles.

The Paralympic table tennis events will take place in Paris, at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre.
