Salah’s little phrase that maintains the discomfort with Klopp

After the Mohamed Salah-Jürgen Klopp altercation on the edge of the pitch, this Saturday against West Ham (2-2), the Liverpool coach considered the incident to be over. But not the Egyptian striker.

As well as seeing their last title hopes slip away, Liverpool offered themselves a controversy they would have liked to have done without this Saturday. When West Ham equalized against the Reds at the end of the game (2-2), Mohamed Salah, who was about to come on, and his coach Jürgen Klopp kept firm on the touchline. It is impossible to know the subject of their disagreement, but the Egyptian seemed to lose his temper after the German whispered a few words in his ear.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Klopp batted down the fire by calling the incident over. “We talked about this moment in the dressing room with the guys, it’s in the past now,” said the iconic Liverpool manager, who explained that he had the “feeling” that this was Salah’s opinion as well.

“There will be a fire if I speak”

Problem: the Egyptian, as an arsonist, added fuel to the fire. Crossing the mixed zone at the London Stadium, the striker, questioned about this spat, had a very different point of view to the manager’s. “There’s going to be a fire today if I speak,” the former Roman told the press.

Sad end for Klopp in Liverpool, who has only three games left on the bench. Within a month, the Merseyside club was eliminated from the FA Cup by Manchester United (3-4) in the quarter-finals, then from the Europa League by Atalanta Bergamo (0-3, 1-0), also in the quarters, and therefore surely buried their last chances to win the PL.
