French Days – 5-star Corsair K95 RGB Platinum keyboard for €155.89 (-20%)

Corsair’s new high-end keyboard, the K95 RGB Platinum, has the difficult task of replacing the K95 (RGB) in the manufacturer’s catalogue. To keep the odds on its side, it features the latest super-fast Cherry MX Speed switches and reproduces a glowing aesthetic card with a new backlit area on the top edge. In exchange, it loses two-thirds of its macro keys, which risks disappointing those who like extra control. At the very least, it reduces keyboard clutter.

Aesthetically pleasing, well-built, comfortable and responsive, the K95 RGB Platinum is a success. Removing a few macro keys isn’t a big loss in our opinion, even if the biggest users of these features will inevitably be disappointed. However, this allows you to reduce the size of the keyboard, which becomes significantly less bulky and takes on more classic proportions. The integration of Cherry MX Speed switches into our test version will also please fans of incredible responsiveness.

Significant Arguments

  • Very fast Cherry MX Speed switches.
  • Very good workmanship.
  • Convenient multimedia management.
  • Complete and aesthetic lighting.
  • Good comfort of use.
  • 6 dedicated macro keys.
  • USB pass-through port.
  • 3 customizable profiles saved in the keyboard’s internal memory.

Weak points

  • There are no headphone or microphone jacks.
  • One USB port.
  • Slightly thick wicker sheath.
  • There are no retractable legs at the front (the K70 RGB Rapidfire has them).
  • Dirty palm rest.

Note. Reported price reductions are calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all sellers for an item in the previous month, with safety rules excluding prices from stores whose VAT policies are unclear (so-called “grey” stores tend to in case of import from China).

Alternatively

The Vulcan II Mini is a very good keyboard for gamers who want great responsiveness in a compact format and advanced backlight customization. We welcome the originality of the design and transparent switches, which have both fans and detractors. Otherwise, we regret the lack of PBT plastic in this rather expensive model.
