Discover Safari's 3 New AI Features in iOS 18

AppleInsider received exclusive information about new features based on artificial intelligence in Safari. They should be integrated into iOS 18. iPadOS 18 and macOS 15. A user interface redesign is also expected.

The information comes from Apple engineers who are currently testing the new version of Safari ahead of its presentation at WWDC 2024. Even if the source is official, there is no 100% guarantee that the features described here will be ready on time.

Smart Search

Future functionality Smart Search uses Apple’s artificial intelligence technology built directly into the device. The purpose of this tool is to provide complete summary information about web pages. It’s unclear whether Smart Search will be integrated into iOS 18, as it wasn’t enabled by default during engineering testing.

Web Eraser – Choose what you want to see.

The second feature concerns what can already be found in some ad blockers. This involves the ability to delete elements on a web page. Testers clarify that deleted items will remain deleted every time you visit a web page and that there is no need to start over each time.

AI-powered visual search

Apple already offers a visual search feature on the iPhone, but the one that will be integrated into Safari will be much more powerful. In particular, this would allow find product information consumption when we view images. This’functionality similar to what Google Lens offers. According to AppleInsider, improved visual search for Safari may not be available until 2025.

A future version of Safari will also offer new quick access menu, next to the address bar. It will offer key tools in one simple place.
