Even Stephen King confirms the authenticity of this French film, to avoid it at all costs if you suffer from arachnophobia – Cinema News

Released at the end of 2023, Sébastien Vaniček’s horror film “Vermin” is an exciting, highly effective and intelligent horror film. Which has just been verified by Stephen King himself, and he’s clearly delighted with his discovery.

Released at the end of last year, director Sebastian Vanicek’s Vermines, his first feature film, was a very nice surprise. A highly effective, clever and intelligent horror film, it attracted approximately 280,000 viewers in theaters. Rarely for a film of this genre, Vermin It was nominated for a César Award in two categories: Best Visual Effects and Best First Film.

If this number may seem low to some, despite the huge hype, we must keep in mind that genre films, unfortunately, have struggled for many years to take off at the box office and find the place they deserve. To put things in context: Mathieu Turi’s Gueules Noirs was released just over a month ago, in mid-November 2023, and was a disaster, with only 47,000 spectators…

“Scary, disgusting and well done”

However, the film has just benefited from a good promotional push, with the blessing of horror master Stephen King himself. The author (and one film director) loves nothing more than to share his impressions of works he’s discovered on X (formerly Twitter).

“Spiders, some the size of puppies, infest a French building. Scary and disgusting. Well done.” he is writing.

Enough to make the product logically happy VerminHarry Tordjman: “Very touching to be recognized by the Master of Horror.” Comment as a reaction.

Want to discover Vermin ? It has just been released in a beautiful Blu-ray/4K combo edition. Unless of course you are a hater of spiders…
