As indicated by the newspaper Ouest-France, Catherine Colleter, known as Cathy, died on Friday 3 May 2024 at the age of 61. A key figure in Brest and even Finistère handball, she notably temporarily held the position of coach of the women’s team Brest Penn Ar Bed (later replaced by Brest Bretagne Handball), during the second part of the season 2012- 2013. In the 1980s, she excelled as a midfielder in the Brest women’s team that had progressed to Nationale 1, on the borderline of the elite.
Older sister of former professional footballer Patrick Colleter, notably used by Brest Armorique and Paris SG, she was also a long-time PE teacher at Charles-de-Foucault college, where she was deputy head, before joining Le Conquet. She also commented on handball matches at Tébéo for several years.
His funeral will take place on Friday 10 May in Vern funeral byrå at 12.00.
