Salomé Parent-Rouchy is a French freelance journalist. She lived in Ramallah, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv between 2017 and 2020. Among her many reports, she has investigated the conditions of romantic and sexual life in Israel and Palestine: together or separately, in mixed couples or even within their communities, straight or LGBTQI+, the 14 selected stories show individuals who aspire above all to live freely, whether to start a family Or explore their desires. But in these areas, where everything seems to be aggravated, they often face religious prohibitions, racial prejudices or administrative restrictions. Love, sex and the promised land: Behind the title of Series B, Salomé Barnett Rushdie’s book, illustrated by DeLoupé, sheds light on complex realities and societies.

As we turn the pages of this mockumentary, we begin to think about the power of the world’s stories One Thousand and One Nights: These stories, some of which border on fables, take us away for a moment from the harsh images of war, while giving us tools to think about it differently.
