Champions Cup. Stade Toulousein defy Harlequins and go to the final after a monstrous game!

See my news

THE Toulouse stadium defeated Harlequins (38-26) and join Leinster in the Champions Cup final after a high-flying game at Toulouse Stadium, this Sunday 5th May 2024.

The teams went blow for blow at the start of the match, before Toulouse worked their usual magic and broke free after half an hour of play.

Fortunately for the show, the Bordeaux-Bègles strikers woke up after the lemons to offer resistance, a match of great intensity, a cascade of tests with, as a result, a Toulouse victory. This is all the more beautiful as the opponents played very well on their side. The story of an anthology meeting.

Opponent’s first game

You shouldn’t be late. Toulouse opened the scoring from the start, with a long pass from Romain Ntamack to Mathis Lebel (5e). The swirling wind that rushes and blows into the enclosure narrowly deflects the transformation into Blair Kinghorn. The players must relate to the environment throughout the encounter. Toulouse plays well, but Toulouse Fury is finally interrupted by the champion opposite: Marcus Smith brand (14e) and transforms at the foot of the posts.

The stadists don’t give up. Very quickly, an Occitan carried ball pushes the English defense into the goal. Peato Mauvaka flattened (19e) and Blair Kinghorn transform perfectly. No time to rejoice, but the Harlequins, and Will Evansscore the same try on his side of the pitch (24e). Fortunately, Marcus Smith doesn’t convert.

Toulouse takes a break until the break

The English can hardly be pleased to have returned to match the score at Stade, and Thibaud Flament who intercepts and flattens, answers (27e). Kinghorn’s transformation fails at the bar.

No time to worry about it. An insane counterattack from Rouge et Noir allows it Anthony Dupont to knock out Quins and take the game’s first break (33e). Kinghorn transforms.

In the process, the brilliant scrum-half collects a ball from Peato Mauvaka five meters from the line, after a very good scrape from Alexandre Roumat, and bids for the double (37).e). Kinghorn’s transformation completes an exceptional first term. Position at half-time: 31-12

The Harlequins wake up and put Dupont in socks

Despite the difference in scores, the two teams returned to the field as if nothing had been decided. In addition, Cadan Murley wakes up the supporters by scoring in the corner despite the very good return of Kinghorn (46e). Marcus Smith converts.

A small incident of play, Antoine Dupont sends one of his crampons flying and allows himself some nice defensive gestures with a sock (50e). It is not enough. Tyrone Green brand (53e) a few minutes later. Marcus Smith transforms and relaunches his people.

London begins to impose its rhythm, although Toulouse resists. The two teams offer a Dantesque semi-final! The turning point in the battle will come when Jack Walker gives a shoulder to Antoine Dupont (66e). He comes out on a yellow card and the Toulouse penalty is carried out without delay: served after pentaltouch, Juan Cruz Malia resists two tackles and scores in the corner to free his own (68e). The audience sings “we are in the final”. The sixth star has never been closer. She may be in London.

Next game off Toulouse stadiumanother poster, Sunday 12 May 2024 against French Stadium at 21.05. This will be the first place match. No rest for the Stadistes!
