Exclusive photos: Joseph Woll was not feeling well in training

The Toronto Maple Leafs had to make an unexpected change in net before the 7the game against the Boston Bruins, due to the injury to Joseph Woll, whose pain he battled was clearly visible during Saturday morning’s practice.

Woll appeared to be hurt in the final moments of Thursday night’s fight, when he made a desperate dive to block a shot that eventually rattled into the ropes. He appears to have pulled a muscle in his groin or leg.

TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie, who was at Leafs practice with his cameraman, presented exclusive images during the pre-game. Watch in the main video.

Woll “takes an easy trip and stays on the ice a little long. No big deal at the time, but still he goes to see goalie coach Curtis Sanford. He takes a few minutes of rest, does some stretching exercises,” he explained during his segment.

“Then he obviously met with Ilya Samsonov. The two men had a brief discussion, but it was pretty clear that there was a problem. Curtis Sanford came back to see Joseph Woll to see if there was still a possibility that he would play in tonight’s game, Lavoie continued.

It was Samsonov who started the decisive game against the Bruins with Martin Jones as assistant.
