In the midst of the crisis facing the video game industry, Embracer Group is set to take part in the summer festivities by giving players their first encounter with THQ Nordic.

The curse of the video game industry

The video game industry has been going through a major crisis since last year, with many studios laying off their employees en masse and canceling several of their projects one by one. Among the most important layoffs of this crisis, we certainly remember those that affected the various studios that are part of the Embracer Group. Thus, the European giant laid off more than 1,400 employees, closed seven studios and reportedly canceled almost 29 projects. A real massacre, difficult to accept by CEO Lars Wingefors, which in no way marks the end of the Embracer Group. After deciding to create three new organizations dedicated to the development and publishing of video games.the giant should also be back with new games, which it may also introduce very soon.

THQ Nordic announces presentation

While Summer Game Fest is supposed to kick off the ball of various summer conferences, today we learn that Embracer Group should actually be at the party, at least along with publisher THQ Nordic. As such, the THQ Nordic Showcase has just been officially announced, with its date set for August 2nd, less than three months from now.

During this presentation, players should learn news about the remake Gothic as well as Titan Quest 2, two games highly anticipated by the community, which can thus receive their first release date. The publisher may also share news about Disney’s Epic Mickey: Remastereda remake of the game of the same name, originally released in 2010. Finally, THQ Nordic can also tell you more about previously announced games, but they will also reveal to us some still unknown projects. Reply August 2.
