Banjul – The work of the 15th session of the Islamic Summit Conference, held under the theme “Promoting unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development”, ended on Sunday in Banjul, The Gambia, with the adoption of the final communiqué and the Banjul Declaration.

At the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held on May 4 and 5 in the “Dawda Kairaba Jawara” International Conference Center, with the presence of many heads of member states, a resolution on Palestine and Al-Quds Acharif was adopted.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI was represented at this summit by the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq, who read the Royal Speech during the opening ceremony of this event.

The Palestinian issue, peace and security, the situation of Muslim communities and minorities in non-member states, legal, humanitarian, social, cultural, economic, scientific and technological, media, administrative and financial issues were now on the menu of this 15th summit chaired by the Republic The Gambia.

The opening ceremony, presided over by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, provided an opportunity for the leaders of member states to discuss various political, economic, humanitarian, social and cultural issues, with a special emphasis on rejecting hate speech and Islamophobia. , promoting dialogue, as well as issues related to climate change and food security

This 15th session was preceded by a meeting of foreign ministers with the participation of the minister of foreign affairs, African cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, accompanied by the Moroccan ambassador to Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the OIC. Mustapha Mansouri, Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation Mohamed Methqal, Chargé d’Affaires of the Moroccan Embassy in Gambia Ahmed Belhaj, as well as several ministry officials.
