At the end of a long trial season before finishing in relief, Caen HB Vikings are already planning for the next one. This Monday, May 6, 2024, president Thomas Lamora and coach Sébastien Quintalle launched the “playoff operation 2005”.
We built a team with the ambition to get back to the top of the table. The aim will be to end up among the first six who participate in the play-offs.
Captain Jordan Allais extends the adventure
Only six players from the current squad will still be under contract in July: the two goalkeepers Kouassi and Druguet, centre-back Allan Villeminot, winger Samuel Veydié, pivot Sacha Mantz and right-back Louis Tournellec. Without any real surprise, they will always be accompanied by Jordan Allais. The pivot and captain (age 31) will return for one season, plus an extra one as an option. – It was obvious to us, emphasizes Sébastien Quintallet. Jordan fully meets my expectations, he is making an effort to continue his progress. It will also be important to transfer the club’s and the city’s values to new players.”
In the club since U18
The desire to continue an adventure started with France U18, more than 15 years ago, was shared by both parties.
Caen HB has given me everything in my professional life. I experienced a lot of joy there. I am very happy to be part of the team that received the maintenance this year. We will come out of this season stronger, the club like me.
Seven recruits were waiting
The Caen leaders have (almost) completed recruitment. They count on seven new players, not counting any youngsters from the Academy who will come and seek the match parks.
We will try to be very solid defensively, in several units, to be effective in fast play. This is the evolution of our sport.
The announcements should follow each other in the coming days, before the last day of the championship, Friday 17. May, in Sélestat.
