“I felt like I was flying on the rocks.” Mountain biker Loïc Bruni wins the first round of the downhill World Cup in Scotland

This is the first time Loïc Bruni has succeeded in taming Fort William, a legendary mountain bike location. Cagnois won the first round of the downhill World Cup on Sunday.

This Sunday 5 May will mark a milestone in the already glittering career of Loïc Bruni. At the age of 30, the mountain biker from Cagnes-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes) managed to win for the first time on the descent from Fort William in Scotland, during the first round of the 2024 World Championship.

Review the descent:

Loïc Bruni won ahead of the Australian Troy Brosnan And the Canadian Finn Iles. A victory he particularly appreciated. “I felt like I was flying over the rocks with my bike”he commented upon arrival.

In October 2023, Loïc Bruni won his third downhill mountain bike world cup in Canada.

The French Riviera is also a five-time world champion in the discipline. Suffice it to say that he already had nothing more to prove on the downhills. The fact remains that this Scottish victory, as well as personal pleasure, bodes well for the season. Let it be said, in 2024 Loïc Bruni is more than ever at the top of his art.
