Florent Manaudou is back in form. Days before becoming the first torchbearer to carry the Olympic flame on Marseille soil, the four-time Olympic medalist returned to the swimming pools this weekend.
The licensee of the Cercles des Nageurs de Marseille wanted to test himself three months before the Paris 2024 Games. He particularly shone in the 50m freestyle during the Open des Gones, which took place in Lyon.
Ninth world performance of the year
At home, since he is from Villeurbanne, Florent Manaudou won his race in 21”83 this Sunday. Earlier, he achieved a very good 21″71 in series on Friday, thus signing his ninth world performance of the year. “My competition weekend ended on Friday night, actually, Saturday and Sunday was work. It was well done”declared Laure Manaudou’s brother.

Although gaining speed, Florent Manaudou is not yet qualified for the Olympic Games. He will try to redeem his ticket during the French championships, which take place in Chartres (June 16 to 21).
