Three Swiss relay teams get their ticket to Paris – rts.ch

Three Swiss relay teams qualified for the Paris Games during the Nassau Worlds. Only the men’s 4×100 failed. For five unlucky thousandths.

Enrico Güntert, Timothé Mumenthaler, Felix Svensson and William Reais set a time of 38.65, one tenth more than the day before. They were eventually beaten by Liberia for 2nd place in the repechage series.

This 4×100 relay gave me another chance to see Paris. Two places actually remain to complete the field of 16 teams that will participate in the Games. However, the Swiss must set a top-class time in the coming weeks to be among the two relays that are selected.

The mixed 4x400m relay (Ricky Petrucciani, Annina Fahr, Lionel Spitz, Giulia Senn) and the women’s 4x400m relays (Lena Wernli, Annina Fahr, Julia Niederberger, Giulia Senn) and the 4x100m relays (Géronie Kornelly, Léonie Frey, Léonie Frey, Pointet, Sarah Atcho-Jaquier) on the other hand, all three finished in 2nd place in their series.

The women’s 4x100m thus qualify for the Olympics for the fourth time in a row. In Paris he could benefit from the reinforcement of Mujinga Kambundji and Ajla Del Ponte.
