More than 800 applications for participation in the urban biosphere

To support Corentin de Chatelperron and Caroline Pulz in their experiments with low technology in an urban environment, the city launched a call for applications open to all residents of Boulogne. Over 800 of you have applied to learn a new lifestyle! This citizen experience will allow us to collect a wide range of technical, sociological, ergonomic and even psychological data on the implementation and use of low technologies.

Missions start in September

A screening phase is currently underway to retain a sample of motivated participants with diverse profiles. She will deliver her verdict on May 31. Lucky volunteers will begin their mission in September. Feedback from individual households will help scientists develop lifestyles that meet UN targets for greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption by 2050.

Creation of the Biosphere Experience association, which will become a network of local participants.
The adoption of a low-tech approach to urban living is symbolized by the creation of a new association, BiSphere Expérience, with the support of the Low-Tech Laboratory. Additionally, for this experience to be successful, it must be part of a vibrant local ecosystem. As such, Emma Bousquet-Pasturel, the final member of the team, was responsible for creating a network of local actors willing to take part in the experience. The city government, the main partner of the project, has facilitated this collaboration by bringing together BiSphere Expérience with various local actors such as the Maison de la Planete, Amap, the bicycle workshop, groups of Boulogne residents… After a successful month of research in the region, about twenty actors and citizens have already gathered to take part in this natural low-tech city experience. “We want to propose and test a low-tech city model in which citizens collectively participate in their territory, pool their knowledge, their knowledge, and develop new systems of exchange.“, supports Emma Bousquet-Pasturel.
