BAM and the World Bank use the ‘Douar Tour’ concept

Bank Al Maghrib (BAM) and the World Bank (WB) announced on Wednesday the deployment of the “ Douar Tour” which aims to support the rural population through capacity building in the financial decision-making process.

This concept, which is part of the “ Greenback Morocco“, is deployed through targeted messages on how to obtain information to better understand the different financial services available for money transfer and their prices, to make the most of the opportunities that arise for the beneficiaries, and only through educational tools available are asked to actors in the financial ecosystem and civil society to disseminate them among their target groups, BAM and the World Bank indicate in a joint press release.

Douar tour » is being tested through two initial pilot operations to be carried out on May 6 and 8, 2024 in the weekly souks of two places in the province of Khouribga (Oued Zem and Lagfaf), reports the same source, adding that a mobile desk was made available for this purpose from the beneficiaries so that they could put the knowledge acquired into practice.

This new concept will be deployed in 4 regions during 2024, namely Beni-Mellal Khenifra, Souss-Massa, Fès-Meknes and Oriental.

BAM and the World Bank continue their efforts in the context of the “ Greenback Morocco » to develop innovative and inclusive approaches for the benefit of different population groups, to promote the use of digital means for transferring money.
