Pro D2 – Vannes in the lead, Montauban and Mont-de-Marsan neutralize each other… The predictions for the 29th day

The Pro D2 teams are back for the 29th and penultimate day. For their last reception of the season, Vannes should take the upper hand over Brive while Montauban and Mont-de-Marsan could well end in a draw… Here are the editorial predictions!

Vannes – Letters

Guaranteed direct qualification for the semi-finals, Vannes wants to end his regular season in style at La Rabine. With a small points lead over Provence Rugby, the Bretons can set themselves a final symbolic goal: to come first in the rankings. Facing them, Brivistes will try everything to achieve an exploit and hope for a crazy qualification in the top 6.

Our prediction: victory for Vannes, defensive bonus for Brive

Beziers – Nevers

ASBH wants to secure its place in the play-offs and ensure reception in the final phase. Facing a direct competitor, Biterrois has no room for error and will be supported by more than 10,000 spectators at the Raoul-Barrière stadium. Nevers will be looking to make a big move in the Hérault to get past Mont-de-Marsan and offer themselves one last fiery reception to end the season.

Our prediction: win for Béziers

Grenoble – Colomiers

Still at the top of the standings, Grenoble are 180 minutes away from achieving an improbable rise in the standings and qualification for the final stages despite having several points withdrawn. Fourth before the 29th day, Isérois can confirm their place if they offer Colomiers. Haut-Garonnais is almost eliminated from the race for the top 6 and should win with the offensive bonus to get back on the heels of Mont-de-Marsan.

Our prediction: improved win for Grenoble

Rouen – Soyaux-Angoulême

Will Rouen emerge from the darkness? Last in Pro D2 for most of the season, Sébastien Tillous-Borde’s men are just three points behind Montauban, in crisis. Receiving Soyaux-Angoulême already upheld, the Normans had to fight with the knife between their teeth to try to tear a barrier against the national finalist.

Our prediction: victory for Rouen

Dax – Agen

Having emerged victorious from the derby on the Mont-de-Marsan field two weeks ago, Dacquois is no longer a surprise in this championship. The Landais are real candidates for the final phase. Fifth two days before the end of the regular phase, the protégés can take a further step towards qualification against Agen at Maurice-Boyau. Across from them, they will find Lot-et-Garonnais freewheeling at the end of the season. SUA is on a streak of four straight losses.

Our prediction: win for Dax

Montauban – Mont-de-Marsan

Launched into the battle to maintain their position, the Montalbanis no longer have a choice: they must win against Montois at the risk of seeing Rouen abandon them instead of the red lantern. In Sapiac, Tarn-et-Garonnais is left with a heavy defeat against Vannes. With just three points ahead of Rouennais and seven behind Biarritz, USM are swimming in (very) troubled waters and would be well motivated to grab the four victory points, regardless. The task does not look easy against the land ice who are upset by their setback in the derby and the battle for the top 6. This meeting promises to be more than close.

Our prediction: draw

Valence-Romans – Aurillac

A great party is announced near the Pompidou this Friday evening. Already upheld, Drômois want to end the home season in a good way. Promoted, VRDR are having a very good season and do not want to miss it in front of supporters who should be in large numbers for the reception at Stade Aurillacois. Not yet mathematically maintained, the Cantal residents nevertheless have room to see things coming. They still have a big defeat in Brive and will have good arguments to put forward. Enough to win the bet? Not sure…

Our prediction: victory for Valence-Romans

Biarritz – Provence Rugby

Immersed in a somewhat unusual week off the pitch, BO can ensure continuation in Pro D2 this weekend. To do this we must win in Aguiléra against Provence Rugby. On paper, this meeting promises to be tough for the Basques except that Provençaux have already qualified for the semi-finals. As a result, they should rest a few leaders for this trip, which could benefit Biarrots who have a big win in Agen during their last outing.

Our prediction: victory for Biarritz
