Damian Warner and Götzis, it’s a love story that lasts. The Canadian Olympic champion won the famous Austrian decathlon this Sunday for the eighth time in his career, with a total of 8,678 points. He beat the Dutchman Sven Roosen (8,517 points, a new personal record), and the Estonian Johannes Erm (8,462 points).
The Dutch Anouk Vetter, Olympic vice-champion in Tokyo, won the heptathlon by scoring 6642 points, the best world performance of the year. She beat Swiss Annik Källin (6,506 points) and American Michelle Atherley (6,465 points).
