First choice for the 2024 Orange Book Award

headed by Jean-Christophe RuffinMember of the French Academy and author Gold and jungle (Kalman Levy), the jury of the 16th Orange Book Prize made its first choice. This consists of 20 French titles published at the beginning of the winter academic year. The jury will meet again on May 13 to select the five final novels. From May 14 to June 5, netizens will vote for their favorite book and the winner will be announced on June 13.

The jury consists of sixteen members including the authors Paul Saint-Brice (Winner 2023), Rachid Benzine, Dimitri Delmas, Julie Esteve, Olivier Leron And Alexia StreeseBooksellers Chloe Abellan (Le Devian Library), Marie Michaud (Gilbert Joseph de Poitiers) and six readers from the Readers.com community. The Reading City Caritas Club, a committee of about two dozen former jurors, will complete the jury, and it will count as one vote.

The Orange Book Award highlights the most notable novels of the back-to-school season for the month of January. It is too “The desire to highlight emerging talent, which has not yet benefited from a strong reputation.”
