The Le Mans Pop Festival celebrates thirty years of discoveries in the service of French song

Le Mans Cité Chanson, now Le Mans Pop Festival, is thirty years of musical launching pad where more than 1,000 artists have come together, with the support and companionship of the union structure. The Man Pop Festival aims to be a guardian of French song, a popular heritage to be transmitted, and a promoter of the emergence of a new French-speaking scene.

Many artists have appeared on the stages of the Man Pop Festival since its inception thirty years ago: Sanseverino, Jean Shirhal, Amelie Les Crayons and Frédéric Fromet, to name just a few of the most famous.

The idea of the festival, initially called “Le Mans Cité Chanson”, served as a first springboard for emerging artists in French song. Over the years, the festival has covered all musical styles: rap, fusion, rock, and folk. But she always kept the French song at the heart of her programs.

Today the formula has evolved. Artists are selected during the year, during Song Tuesday, which takes place throughout the summer.

Only a few artists remain among the 30 nominees who appear each week on the summer scene. The final on Sunday, March 31, brings together the last stage of musicians: Hector O Rayan, Arcibol, Louise Compierre and Vanina Di Franco.

The final starting point is judged by a jury composed of producers, editors, programmers, festival directors, specialized journalists and artists.

The winner will be supported technically and medially by the association for a year.

The mini-concerts for each of the four artists start from 2pm at the Palais des Congrès et Culture du Man on Sunday 31 March.

The starting point will conclude with a concert by Yuan Lunay, A nominee for the fourth season of The Voice, he is originally from Sarthe and artistic advisor to the La Flambée review in Le Mans.
