“Those who are blind to the massacres in Gaza will do the same if a similar disaster befalls us”

The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that his country cannot trust Western countries, believing that in the event of an extremely difficult situation, they will do nothing to help Turkey.

The Turkish head of state spoke on Thursday during a pre-election rally in the northwestern city of Bursa.

He spoke in particular about the unreliability of Western countries.

“The recent events in Gaza show that. Those who play blind and deaf to the Muslim blood flowing in Gaza will certainly do the same if a similar disaster befalls us tomorrow,” he said.

Before continuing: “We have experienced this too: when we were going through a crisis with Russia and terrorist organizations were close to our borders, Western countries withdrew air defense systems from our southern cities. Praise God, we managed to overcome the difficulties of this period with our own strength, our means and our struggle.”

And he added: “Whatever policy we pursued in Syria, Libya, the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and Karabakh, we found a large global alliance against us. In order to disrupt our climate of trust and stability, they tried to provoke and mobilize every segment they could influence in our country for years, and they implemented the same scenario every election period.”

Turkey is preparing for local elections that will take place this Sunday, March 31.
