As part of Operation Blue Mars, CCAS and the municipality of Aubin initiated an informative evening last Thursday in the François Fabier room, organized by Dr. Kalin Ngunu Nzietchueng, responsible for the Aveyron and Lot sites, from the Occitania Coordination Centre.
“Blue March is Colon Cancer Prevention and Screening Month,” the doctor begins. She continues: “In partnership with CCAS and the city of Aubin, I am reaching out to a wide audience because this affects everyone. Knowing that the numbers are there and that we currently only enroll 30% of people who screen. this makes it possible to detect blood in the stool, and such diagnosis leads to faster treatment, which means it makes it possible to avoid serious problems.
The doctor talks in detail about his method of articulating interventions. “Through various seminars, diet, physical activity… and screening. It’s prevention, but I especially emphasize the importance of the screening test.” In turn, the CCAS manager adds: “Home care staff have been informed and educated about colon cancer screening. This information allows them to convey a message to the people they support through their work.
About ten people attended this Mars Bleu day, including elected officials including Aubin Mayor Christine Toyler.
