Patek Philippe will head to Geneva for surfing in April

Lovers of watches and craftsmanship will meet on the shores of Lake Geneva to discover 82 exceptional timepieces from April 13 to 27.

This year we will (almost) be able to surf Lake Geneva. At least by visiting the new Patek Philippe “Haut Artisanat 2024” collection in a historic building on the rue du Rhône in Geneva. This is where fans of fine watches will be able to admire the Calatrava 5089G-129 “On the Beach”, with its wooden dial decorated with marquetry depicting a surfer waiting for a wave on a Californian beach. To create this limited edition of ten pieces, the marquetry artist had to cut and assemble a total of 100 pieces and 75 tiny wood inlays, representing 23 species of different colors, textures and veining.

These are just one of the 82 watches and clocks that will be on display in this ephemeral exhibition from the Haut Artisanat 2024 collection: 27 dome and mini clocks, three table clocks, nine luxury pocket watches and 43 wristwatches. On the site, master engravers and enamellers will demonstrate to visitors their know-how: micromarketing on wood, Longwy faience enamels, Grand Feu cloisonne enamel, miniature enamel painting, grisaille enamel… Visitors will also be greeted by an exceptional set of twelve Calatrava wristwatches with dials , covered in Limoges white grisaille enamel, cloisonne enamel and payonnet enamel, depicting constellations associated with the signs of the zodiac.

In the living room on the shore of the lake, objects will be collected that highlight the beauty of nature – flora, fauna, gardens of the world, resort towns – in a very refined setting, as on a pocket watch, article 995/143G-001 “Portrait of an Egret”. with very fine wooden marquetry. The exhibition on the Rue du Rhône will be dedicated to the great legends of human adventure (art, tradition, sport), including a selection of works dedicated to surfing, including the Calatrava wristwatch, reference 5089G-129 “On the Beach”, with a portrait of a surfer in a wooden marquetry.
