This Friday, the head of sports equipment manufacturer Adidas ruled “inexplicable” the sum promised by its great rival Nike to win its historic contract with the German football team, in an interview with AFP. According to the German newspaper Handelsblattthe American giant has committed to pay at least 100 million euros to the German Football Association from 2027, i.e. double what Adidas pays today, which will thus lose a partner associated with more than 70 years of joint history.

Bjørn Gulden also indicated that the brand with the three stripes would make another offer “a suitable price” to try to become France’s kit supplier again, under contract with Nike until 2026, with the warning that it will not go beyond a certain sum during the tender that the federation will soon launch French (FFF). While many national federations are preparing to launch tenders, the German company will do so “offers where it makes sense, at a price that suits us, and beyond that we will not participate”warned the Norwegian leader.
