One of the biggest police unions, influenced by the far right, wants to see the financial compensation promised to agents mobilized for the Olympic Games released quickly. Otherwise, they will carry out their threat.

The Alliance’s police union, highlighted on the far right, is ready to disrupt public order if it does not win the case. In order for the police officers to quickly receive bonuses and allowances as compensation for their involvement during the Paris Olympics, the Alliance is threatening this Tuesday, April 23, to disrupt the journey to the Olympic flame. THE “policemen and all agents from the Ministry of the Interior are taken hostage by Matignon and Bercy who deliberately block all deals” linked to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, accuses the association in a press release. “Nothing moves”, “the cup is full!” he thunders. Damned, the union members put it bluntly: “we forbid ourselves from disrupting the course” of the flame, which will arrive in Marseille on May 8.

At the end of January, Gérald Darmanin announced the creation of an exceptional bonus of up to 1,900 euros for police officers and gendarmes working in Ile-de-France, paid by the state as compensation for the mobilization of the forces of order during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which are organized from respectively 26 July to 11 August and from 28 August to 8 September. To this bonus comes a compensation of 50 euros per night for all police officers who are sent for at least five days on a security mission or in connection with the 2024 Olympics.
