Le Cheilard: get vaccinated this Friday

The team from the departmental vaccination center will come free of charge and without an appointment on Friday, April 26, at the Fernand-Lafond hospital.

Are you up to date on polio, tetanus or hepatitis B? If this is not the case, you can call back this Friday, April 26, at the Fernand-Lafon Hospital. On the occasion of European Vaccination Week, supported in particular by French Public Health, a doctor and one or two nurses will be on exceptional duty from 9:30 to 12:30 in a ward near the entrance to the Cheilaoua hospital center. This is a team from the departmental vaccination center, based for several months in Le Charme in Val-les-Bains (South Ardèche hospital center), who will arrive with several doses of different injectable drugs. Anyone can introduce themselves. “This is a free activity and without prior registration.– says Elisabeth Sauger, head of health care and coordinator of the operation. But you still need to present the documents required for vaccination.“. These documents are a medical card (or vaccination record) and a Carte Vitale (or simply a social security number if the beneficiary knows it by heart).

All mandatory vaccines, including against papillomavirus.

Please note that this is not intended to protect the patient from the flu or any seasonal illness, a medical procedure that occurs in the fall rather than the spring. This April, the team is offering only mandatory vaccines: diphtheria (DTP), whooping cough, invasive pneumococcal infections, meningitis, measles, etc. The package will even include several doses of a vaccine against papillomavirus (for example, the causative agent of cervical cancer), which will administered to adolescents. For any intervention involving a minor, the departmental center requires that the minor be accompanied by an adult. “However, at this time, no one is required to get the injection.– explains Elizabeth Sauger. The patient can simply obtain information and check whether their vaccination schedule has been completed.“.

This is the first year that the departmental vaccination center team travels for half a day. This year she chose Le Cheilard. Next year it will be another Ardèche hospital.
