Olympics 2024. According to a study, sport occupies an important place among the French

For this study conducted by Allianz, the insurance group and partner of the International Olympic and Paralympic Committees, 3,020 French people aged 18 to 75 (including 1,484 families with children) were asked about their relationship to physical activity and sport.

Positive effects on physical and mental health

In fact, according to the study, more than 8 out of 10 French people think that physical activity is important for them, 6 out of 10 spend 30 minutes for sports per day. 59% of the people consulted saw benefits for physical health, 51% for mental well-being.

If endurance sports such as walking and pole walking are favored (70%), 46% of French people face several difficulties in practicing sports, such as lack of time (46%) or financial constraints (33%). But exercisers recognize effects on their health: 63% notice a cardiovascular improvement and 61% on weight control.

When it comes to the study of sports practiced by the children interviewed, football comes up most often (14%), followed by dancing (10%), swimming (9%) and basketball (9%).
