The Morocco Pavilion caused a sensation on Tuesday in Hannover, in north-central Germany, during the Hannover Messe, the world’s largest industrial technology fair held every spring at the city’s exhibition center.

The Morocco Pavilion, initiated by the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports (AMDIE), was an opportunity for the Agency, under the banner of the investment and export brand “Morocco Now”, to highlight the strengths and opportunities of the Kingdom in the field of investing in the professions of the future. During the visit to the Morocco Pavilion, the Delegate Minister in charge of Investments, Convergence and Public Policy Evaluation, Mohcine Jazouli, who is currently leading an economic roadshow in Germany, welcomed Morocco’s participation in the Hannover Messe, one of the most important trade fairs in the world, presenting the latest developments in industry, digital technology, renewable energy and electric mobility. “Our presence aims to promote Morocco, its vision under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and its major initiatives, especially in the electric mobility and renewable energy sectors, by underlining our commitment to hydrogen,” argued the minister. The General Director of the Moroccan Investment Development and Export Agency (AMDIE), Ali Seddiki, was also pleased to welcome Morocco to this major global industrial event, which brings together almost 200 industrial sectors. And added: “Morocco could not miss this high mass, which is essential to promote the industrial investment opportunities it offers in various professions, in particular sustainable development and renewable energy, including green hydrogen”. In this context, Mr. Seddiki explained that, thanks to the Royal vision, Morocco has great ambitions in decarbonization, industrial investments and the development of the green hydrogen sector. He also indicated that the Kingdom is responding to global demands for decarbonization and is currently positioning itself as a highly attractive destination for investors who want to contribute to this goal on a global scale through investments in the country. On the other hand, to support Moroccan companies in exporting, AMDIE is trying to facilitate their access to such events so that they can exhibit their products and their know-how and facilitate meetings with international contractors, Mr. Seddiki said. The pavilion houses Moroccan companies, which are represented alongside AMDIE members to showcase Morocco’s economic landscape to foreign visitors. The new investment charter, printed in several languages, is available to visitors, accompanied by a QR code system that provides access to other resources to better understand the Moroccan economy.

After visiting the pavilion in Morocco, Mr Jazouli was welcomed by the senior vice president of Deutsche Messe, Annika Klar, before holding a series of meetings with representatives of multinational industrial companies such as specialists in electrical technology, electronics and industrial automation, Phoenix Contact , Siemens, Dassault Systèmes, Rittal and Bosch Rexroth. To conclude the activities of the second day of this Moroccan Roadshow in Germany, the Minister held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economy and Climate, Robert Habeck.

During these bilateral talks, the two ministers focused on the means to achieve the strong complementarity of the Moroccan and German economies through joint projects, especially in the fields of green energy and electric mobility. After Spain at the end of January, the 2024 tour to promote the destination Morocco to foreign investors and customers will continue in Germany as part of a Roadshow from April 22 to 25. Organized by AMDIE, in collaboration with the Moroccan Embassy in Germany, this Roadshow takes place in a special context characterized by the launch of the “Morocco Offer” and the concretization of several strategic investment agreements in the electric battery sector aimed at emergence of a national green car ecosystem, which could be consolidated with leading German operators.

The tour will thus include meetings with German decision-makers, investors and institutions, visits to industrial sites, in addition to a “Morocco Now” conference in Munich under the theme “Creating synergies for Sustainable Partnerships”. The Hannover Messe, also known as Hannover Messe, will continue until April 26 with the participation of many pioneering countries in the field of innovation in industry, technology, automation and energy.

Every year, since its first edition in 1947, this international event brings together thousands of exhibitors and visitors from around the world, eager to present and discover the latest innovations, and explore new business partnerships and investment opportunities.
