Saint-Lizier. Concert in favor of the Izard Chapel

At the invitation of the Association for the Preservation of the Izard Chapel, the Arch’Anches duo will perform at the Saint-Lizier Cathedral on Saturday, May 4, at 8:30 p.m.

Blandine Piccinini (organ) and Laurent Jamme (trumpet) will perform great works of the Baroque and Romantic eras. Of particular note is the concerto in D minor from the opera Marcello. “The pipe plays a role in this job that requires a lot of endurance. The role of the organ is to be equal to the trumpet in beauty in fast movements. It will play an accompanying role in slower movements,” they explain. musicians.

The duet of organ and trumpet will convey to the public that the trumpet can be soft and very free, but strict in the interpretation of Laurent Jamme. This instrument also enhances the high notes in Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s prelude. “The organ will be ‘his partner’ both in dialogue and in supporting his harmony.”

The duo will also present transcriptions of “L’Ave Maria” by Camille Saint-Saëns and “Panis Angelicus” by César Franck. “The trumpet will take on a different aesthetic, and the organ will be entrusted with romantic writing and the development of arpeggios.”

Blandine Piccinini will also perform solo organ pieces, presenting a variety of performances with works from the Baroque and early German classicism.

Price: 15 euros.
