After football and basketball, Throw-in takes to rugby in Fougères

Replay (REJ), a system of social and professional integration through sport, was launched in Fougères at the beginning of 2021, and continues its fourth session.

Fifteen young people aged 16 to 25 joined January 4 last campaign that will end on 31 July next.

In addition to the soccer and basketballthe association diversifies its practice by also offering a cycle of ten rugby sessions.

Throw-in has signed a collaboration with rugby club in the country of Fougèreswhich provides its infrastructure at the Paron Nord stadium and one of the teachers, Simon Martinais, to supervise the sessions with Pierre-Alexandre Lebeslourd and Melvin N’Zingoula, the two REJ teachers.

Open doors

Youth week is structured as follows: soccer Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, basketball Wednesday morning and rugby on Friday morning.

For eight months, they have two hours of sports every morning.

Before starting this new discipline, only one of them had already played rugby.

They give 200%, that’s great.

Around sixty young people in total participated in the system Ferns since it was created.

Last year there was a success rate of 92%, which means that fourteen out of fifteen young people have either found a job or received qualified training. The aim is also to make them want to take a license in clubs in the Fougères country.

Marin is part of the new campaign. “It was friends who did Re-en-game who talked to me about this,” he explains. Playing sports is motivating. I like football and rugby. It’s faster”.

The young resident of the land of Fougères think of two professional activities: “sports instructor” or “work in security”. “I’ll try to do an internship,” Marin aims.

In May Throw in will hold an open house every Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the South Paron complex. Young people interested in the system will be able to meet the teachers there.
