William Gomis after his cutting and his canceled fight at UFC 301: “I saw death”

William Gomis (26 years old, 1.82m, 66kg, 13-2), whose featherweight fight was canceled after the weigh-in for medical reasons after his cut, returned to the discomfort on Saturday and said he had looked death in the face. “I had a big problem during my cut which was only 2 kilos. I have already done a lot more, 2 kilos is not much. But I had a stomach ache, (…) and things went wrong”he said in a video posted on his social networks, explaining that he was drinking tap water in Brazil.

“When they wanted to rehydrate me, I started throwing up, my body was no longer accepting water. (…) (I was) stubborn, determined, ready to fight (but it was) absolutely stupid because it was becoming dangerous for my health. I refused (my boss) called the doctors, but luckily he did it anyway. I think he probably saved my life because I’ll tell you the truth, I saw death. I’m super happy to be alive and to have gotten out. »
