Summary : “When I was younger, I suffered from obesity and eating disorders. I wrote this book the way I would have liked to see it at that time: friendly, without inhibitions, humane. » Jeremiah
Have you ever looked in the mirror and judged your body harshly? How much time have you spent fighting, hiding, missing out on moments of joy? How many diets have you tried without any real long-term results? Weight problems can affect anyone, but luckily they can be overcome!
In this book, Jeremy Gorski, a nutritionist and former emotional eater, guides you on your journey to change. […]
Say goodbye to unbearable restrictions and begin your journey to freedom.

Notification : You do not have to have an eating disorder (ED) or be overweight to take full advantage of this book. I even think we should all read it to live at peace with our body, mind and diet.
The author doesn’t go out of his way to dispel clichés about diet, exercise, physical and mental health. Moreover, it demonstrates, with supporting evidence, that dieting makes you gain weight. So how to lose weight?

You already need to know why you are taking it. Jeremy Gorski explains to us how our body works, its metabolism and pathologies that affect weight. He talks about food products, their composition, benefits and harms. He reminds us that mental health plays an important role and that exercise is not torture to achieve that famous summer body. This friendly little encyclopedia is very accessible. Each part contains chapters consisting of popularized medical and scientific data, case studies, autobiographical passages, and simple exercises. The tone is fair, often funny, sometimes subversive, but always sincere.

Jeremy Gorski is a dietitian specializing in eating behavior. His second book, It Wasn’t Just a Weight Story: The Diary of an (Almost) Uninhibited Eater, was published in early 2024. The work is available online and in bookstores. Jeremy Gorski is the creator of the Instagram account @mentthe_banane.
