The president of the Olympic club of Safi El-Hidaoui leaves the prison walls

Mohamed El HidaOUi, the former parliamentarian and president of the Olympic club Safi, left the prison walls the day before Tuesday morning, after serving an 8-month prison sentence in El Jadida prison.

El Hidaoui was arrested on 26 July 2023 and was initially sentenced to an effective 18 months in prison, before the Casablanca Court of Appeal decided to overturn the initial sentence, reducing it to an effective 8 months.

El Hidaoui was indicted in the case of the “ticket scandal for the Qatar 2022 World Cup”, which sparked fierce controversy during the participation of the Moroccan national team in the World Cup in Qatar.
