Observation: A light trail is visible in the sky over Reunion Island this morning!

This Friday morning we received video and photographs of a rather unusual sighting in the skies over Reunion Island.

The easy trail is visible to many residents of Reunion Island from 5:30 am. According to the witness: “That fireball moved really fast, I was impressed.”

Several hypotheses: an asteroid or “bolide,” that is, a light phenomenon caused by the entry of a solid natural celestial body, such as a meteoroid, into the atmosphere.

It could also be the Lyrids, that is, a stream of falling stars. According to several media reports, comet C/1861 G1 (Thatcher), consisting of ice crystals, should be visible in the sky this weekend.
