Everton-Liverpool: when and on which channel should you watch the match on the 29th day of the Premier League?

Normally, the Mersey derby is necessarily a defining moment in Liverpool’s season. But the one the Reds prepare to play against Everton (16th) this Wednesday at Goodison Park promises to be even better than usual. Fully engaged in a fantastic Premier League title battle with Arsenal and Manchester City, Virgil Van Dijk and his partners will therefore pursue a dual goal in this late game on the 29th: local supremacy against an opponent in full contention for the maintenance, and the need not to lose ground on its competitors.

Currently placed second in the table, tied with leaders Arsenal, who are ahead of them on goal difference, Liverpool are also feeling the hot breath of Pep Guardiola’s Citizens on their necks. In third place with one point less, the Mancunians are one game behind their two rivals. It will therefore be necessary not to make any missteps for the Reds who want to offer a legendary exit to their coach Jürgen Klopp, who leaves the position at the end of the season.

Liverpool stripped of Jota

A meeting that the inhabitants of Anfield are approaching without Diogo Jota, physically affected during the success won by his partners at Fulham (1-3) last weekend. After going through a period of turbulence, characterized by elimination in the quarter-finals of the Europa League against Atalanta Bergamo (0-3, 1-0) and a setback against Crystal Palace (0-1) in the championship, the reds therefore continued their march against Craven Cottage.

A win on Wednesday would also be historic, as it would be Liverpool’s 100th success in the Mersey derby, a confrontation that clearly leans in the direction of the men in red. The latter has only lost one of the last 28 games against its rival. In addition, Jürgen Klopp can win his tenth derby against Everton, something no coach has ever managed to do in the entire history of the English club.

The match between Everton and Liverpool takes place on Wednesday 24 April from 21:00. It will be followed live on Canal+.
