Four meetings with clubs from the Caen area took place last weekend. Four others were played this Wednesday, April 24, including a derby between Vallée de l’Orne and Hastings Rots, a remake of the Coupe de France which saw the representatives of Fontenay le Marmion clearly fail (4-0). This time Petit Poucet took revenge and as in the previous round against another R3 (Pointe Hague), Mickael Roullier’s players overcame the obstacle during the penalty shootout.

The other big achievement goes to ASL Chemin Cert who beat Domfront, a solid R3 team. Ilyes Daoudi had shown the way by opening the scoring on the hour mark Issa Mahamat Chiguer doubled the lead in the 80th minute but the reduction in Ornais scoring caused a (very) small wave of panic in the final seconds.

Ouistreham goes to the wire, Carpiquet eliminated

Colleville Ouistreham were in great danger on the Saint Desir field. But Dylan Orange’s players came out unscathed by equalizing from a Demba penalty in the 88th minute and then earning a flawless penalty shootout (4-1).

Carpiquet, the last representative of Caen la Mer, undoubtedly had the most difficult challenge to take on. On the field of AS Cherbourg, one of the very best R3 teams in the region, the Carpions provided great opposition and gave the Manche crowd a great image. Trailing 2-0 at the break, they had the opportunity to come back and restart the debates in the closing minutes, but Victor Pelleray stopped a penalty and the Caen suburbs even conceded a third goal.

Let’s give back to Coco what belongs to Denieul…

We allowed Verson’s winning goal against Dover to Malo Guivarc’h and that was a big mistake. The goal was really the work of Coco Denieul. A thousand apologies to the forgotten goalscorer and Malo must forgive us, but it will soon be his turn to score.
