Attack near Moscow: New suspect arrested

A new suspect in the March 22 terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow has been arrested, local media reported Friday, citing security sources.

“As part of the investigation into the criminal case initiated in connection with the Crocus terrorist attack, another person was arrested”the news agency stated “Ria Novosti”, citing law enforcement.

The suspect is a citizen of Tajikistan, about twenty years old, reported the Russian media “RBC”, citing a source close to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Eleven people, including four alleged perpetrators, have been remanded in custody until May 22 as part of the investigation into the attack that killed 144 and injured hundreds, according to the latest report from Russian authorities.

On March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated that the attack was carried out by “radical Islamists”.
