This New York restaurant moves its cashiers to the Philippines, where they pay five times less

A handful of New York restaurants have been testing remote cashiers for several months, live on Zoom from the Philippines. And for good reason: these Filipino cashiers are paid $3 an hour, five times less than the minimum wage in New York. The experience should be generalized to about a hundred locations by the end of the year.
