The third Mobil swimming event takes place this Saturday at the Cercle Nautique Calédonien, in Nouméa. Olympic swimmer Fantine Lesaffre is the guest of honour. The opportunity for young Caledonian swimmers to ask him questions about high-level competition.
No less than 18 victories as French champion and European champion in 2018, swimmer Fantine Lesaffre is currently in New Caledonia. She is a guest at the Mobil meeting taking place at the Cercle des nageurs calédoniens, in Nouméa, this Saturday.
This is Fantine Lesaffre’s first time in the territory, but she has met the new Caledonian champion, Lara Grangeon, several times. “With Lara, I spent my whole career with her, at the very beginning she was first everywhere“, recalls the swimmer who qualified for the last Olympics in Tokyo.
Her career ended after eleven years at the highest level, Fantine Lesaffre is happy to share her experience with the youngest in Nouméa. “ What I get asked the most are all the questions surrounding the competition: physical preparation, what we eat, what we drink… “, she explains.
This swimming competition gets a new wind this year with an increase in participant registration: 471 have swum since 08:30 this Saturday morning. The semi-finals are at 2.30pm followed by the final from 4pm.
