The 24-year-old defender collapsed in the 70se minute. There had been fears of a heart attack for Ndicka, who was immediately treated and taken to a hospital in Udine where he spent a night under observation. The diagnosis turned out to be less alarming, the extensive examinations had ruled out any cardiac pathology and noted only one “minimal pneumothorax”, according to the club. Ndicka received the medical green light at the beginning of the week to resume physical activity.
The match, interrupted by the referee when the two teams were tied 1-1, resumed on Thursday evening at 71.e minute. It wasn’t until bedtime that Cristante gave AS Roma the three winning points.
